As more and more GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms) show up in our food today, it’s important to call immediate attention to the implications of allowing large corporations to continue to run our farming and food systems. Purchasing brands that promote GMO-Free foods can help ensure the health of you and your family. In turn, you are also giving less power to companies like Monsanto, where one biotech consultant stated, “The hope of the industry is that over time, the market is so flooded that there’s nothing you can do about it. Did you know the blackouts in the summer of 2001 in California were orchestrated?

The grid had plenty of power, and was running at only about half capacity.  In “Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room,” a documentary that sheds light on the big picture of the failed energy giant Enron, there are recorded telephone conversations of Enron energy traders conspiring with the power operators to shut down portions of the California grid in order to cause tremendous price spikes, which they then capitalized on. Happy Earth Day, 2009! A growing number of people all around the world are becoming more aware of the affect of their actions on our environment.  Earth Day provides us a good opportunity to take responsibility for the preservation of nature, the health of this planet and all who reside within its delicate ecosystem.

Earth Day is special because it transcends all national barriers, and soon, everyone will realize that despite differences in our cultures, languages, and religions, we are all the same, and are all here on this planet together. We can work together as one large community to create a healthy, happy, peaceful, and sustainable life right now that will continue to have positive affects for all life in the future.

Did you know that the federal income tax is by law “voluntary?”

There’s a lot about the U.S. tax code that the average taxpayer does not know.  Did you know that no part of the federal income tax collected goes to help fund our schools, roads, or infrastructure?  Every dime collected goes to pay interest that has accrued on the national debt.  This interest is due to the fact that our government does not print our money.  That privilege is reserved for a privately held company called “The Federal Reserve” which is loans the money with interest to our government. Genetically modified foods are sneaking on to the shelves throughout supermarkets all across the globe, even under the label of “organic.”  Without proper labeling and the distinction of genetically modified ingredients, it becomes impossible to tell what exactly we are putting into our bodies.  If someone has an adverse side effect of a genetically modified food or ingredient, there is no way to deduce the source of the problem. What if there was a secret known to all of the greatest and most powerful people throughout history?

Rhonda Byrne believes that she has found that secret, and it is the Law of Attraction.  This idea is explored in her pop-culture-phenomenon book and movie, “The Secret“.  The Universal Law of Attraction states that our thoughts create our reality and that we attract and become what we think about most.  If it is our thoughts that create the world around us, than it is in our best interest to choose our thoughts carefully. This Law is universal in that it begins in each one of us on an individual level and it can also be applied to consciously co-create a better future for our planet and our entire Universe. Did you know that a hundred years ago, there were more electric cars than there are today?

Where did all the electric cars go?

Chris Paine’s “Who Killed the Electric Car?” is a 2006 documentary film that explores the creation, limited commercialization, and subsequent destruction of the electric car in the U.S., specifically the GM EV1 Model of the 1990s.
